Quick Trip to Koeln ( Cologne)

Where do I begin this post.... Maybe I can start with the fact that for once, ONCE I slept in (maybe it's because I stayed up late watching awkward.... but.....). Today was pretty uneventful besides a quick trip to Koeln. Currently we have friends visiting from england, so we are constantly day tripping for them. Literally, every day i'm daytripping ( *insert winky face*). But to the point here. It truly was a quick day trip, especially the fact we slept in till 12 and actually leaving the house at 1. Like almost every other American we decided to pitstop at the Hard Rock and have some rockin food. But, I wouldn't say it was rockin', because really, we all know that Hard Rock food isn't good ( but that's what our visitors wanted). Even if the food is bad I always love going to Hard Rock Cafes. I grew up in the world of metal and rock music, harley davidson, and metallica. Literally, I have every Metallica CD ( live and regular). I even got to saw them last year for my birthday. Going back to the point, because I keep getting side tracked here. I love looking at all the items on the walls and listening to the music ( today they had soundgarden, anthrax, and pearl jam). After eating one hit wonder food ( wasn't that good) we did a quick trip to the Dom ( or cathedral.). I love looking at churches, and just the history behind it. I personally don't think of it much as a church rather I think of it historically. My dad, however, believes that he will be struck by lightening whenever he enters one ( we are protestant and go to church every sunday, just saying. ). But, for it being a quick trip it was enjoyable and I had fun taking some pictures. I recommend visiting the Dom if you ever are in town ( Which honestly how could you not see it) . I have also visited Koeln other times during major fests ( which I will talk about one day) so Koeln is another city I feel comfortable with.  And so come the pictures.......
